Very cool but seriously what sort of range would you get?

From our German friends I saw this:

Nice?

But then I saw the battery is 6.6Ah - and its 48V - so what kind of range will you get with that? 10 miles max? No more right?

Assume 25 watts/mile @ 25mph so that gives 12.6 miles - subtract 20% for "good battery practice" and you have 10.08 miles - so you're bob on.

Of course, you don't "have" to go everywhere at 25mph ;-) And you could carry a spare battery.

Very nice bike though but direct drive hubs aren't for me.

Its 324 Wh thats more than my Bosch at 288 , i would expect it to go at least 20 miles with "energetic use" . Seriously it looks a super bike with a good spec. - just wish i had some readies it could seriously tempt me

No of course you don't. No really. You don't. At all. Have to.

And most of where I go is within 5 miles anyway.

Looks good and at nice price. Some really nice BionX bikes out there now. Only thing which puts me off them is the crazy battery prices. Would be interested to see how they compare to new panasonic 47v rear drive motor.
