Vado handlebars

Finding my (electric) wheels

I absolutely love my Vado Sl 4.0 except for the handlebars. Or more to the point, the height of them. They are playing havoc with my already bad neck and shoulders. My saddle is already as low as it can go.
Has anyone raised theirs and if so how did it go?
Failing that has anyone replaced the handlebars with a different style?
TIA.

Hm, a tip if anyone else is going to do this. Ask your LBS first. I didn't! I bought an adjustable stem and took it to my LBS and they told me it can't be fitted because the brake cables are too short. It's going to cost over £100 (UK) to get new cables and have them fitted!
I've got other things to do before I spend that money on the bike.
So, like I say, check it out with your LBS first.

You can buy new brake cables in Wilkos for about £2, and it takes about 2 minutes to fit them. Your LBS appears to be useless and a rip-off. To do the whole thing would take an experienced bike mechanic about 10 minutes. A typical charge is £35 an hour, with maybe a minimum 1/2 hour charge, so it should cost about £17.50 if you give them the brake cables too.

I'm assuming that your bike has cable brakes because you said cables. If you mean hoses for hydraulic brakes, which is what I'd expect to find on a Vado, that would be different, and the price would be closer to £100.
