Hi All, Thank you for taking your time to read my thread. My ebike has been running fine all week, I charged it up last night to down to Bognor. Right out of the blue she started to judder, power on but 10mph and then full power but with code 6. It got me to Victoria Stn just. When I got to Bognor I had full power for 15mins with no code or juddering. Went to come home and the juddering started again just got to the station and nothing. Got to London had power for 1 minute then blank screen, every time I turned it on it turned straight back off again, and I had to pedal it back home for 6 miles. Can anyone help please, as I am disabled and need the bike.
Many Thanks
A1foxxy

Without knowing any details of your bike, its difficult to say, but if I were to guess, I'd say that the wires coming out of your motor controller have melted, or you didn't push the motor connector in far enough, which has caused consequential damage.

We need to know wh8tch moto controller you have, its maximum current and how many many MOSFETs it has. There's a good chance it's blown now. Have you got a meter to test it?

Hi, the controller is a Famex Ride FR4820 Series, max current 40A -+0.5V, input DC48V. Rated power 2000W, Min Voltage 42V+-0.5V. Sorry don't know what MOSFET's are. And yes I have a meter, but you have to tell me what settings on the meter I need sorry.
Cheers a1foxxy

Unplug the two battery wires and the three thick motor phase wires from the controller so that you can measure the controller through them. Set your meter to measure resistance scale 200K or whatever equivalent it has.

Measure the resistance between the red battery wire and each of the yellow, green and blue motor wires to get three readings that should all be the same as each other and in the range 3k to 20k or thereabouts. Repeat using the black battery wire. The three results must still be the same as each other, but it's OK if they're a bit different to the other three.

Hi, l was going through some threads and someone had the same problem as me. He's problem was the peddle assist, so l checked mine and the peddle was spinning around and the magnet wasn't. So l took it off and instead of seeing the magnets it was covered in muck. Cleaned it and put and bit of tape round the spindle put the peddle back. Turn on the battery and every lit up. The censor started to flash and the wheel was turning for the first time in a long time. Will take the bike out tomorrow for test ride and let you know
Many Thanks for your advice it was very much appreciated. If this doesn't work l will try what you told me.
Cheers a1foxxy

We can all hope, but a pedal sensor not turning wouldn't give any code in the LCD, otherwise you'd get code 6 every time you stopped pedalling.
