I decided to try the Michelin City Protec Plus that has the puncture proof lining. They've been good up to now (no punctures in a few hundred miles) and feel quite comfy and grippy on the road. I can't compare them others but I'm happy with them. My intention is to try the Continentals and the Marathon + when they wear out to see the differences.
There's a big difference between the Continentals and MPs. Continentals puncture protection is comparible to the kevlar lining that is found in many tyres, MP has an extra lining. Tyres with plenty of tread are much less likely to get punctures, the MP lining is like giving you extra tread depth on top of the kevlar lining.
Not looking down my nose mate. Just stating a fact. I'd put the most expensive tyre I could afford on my motor. And I've learned to do the same on my pushbike.
Does higher price equal higher quality then? If it does mean higher quality is that the same as higher safety?

Again it depends on your use.
No tire can be good at everything. Intact with most principles and engineering there are compromises you have to take before cost comes into it.

I personally don't like paying 28 for a new tire mp+
But I buy them because they have generally been good. I'm sure there are better tires for my use but I'm comfortable with them.

There not comfy, rolling resistance is bad, they weigh to much.
There hard wearing. Which is old for the pocket but bad for corner grip.

Let's also factor in tire size and psi which makes huge differences.

I'm rambling now but best tire is not always most expensive by a long way.
