TSDZ2 speed sensor

Hi

My TDSZ2 speed controller has gone a bit wonky. I have been fiddling around with the magnet distance from the sensor, one spoke seems too far away and no speed is recorded, the closer spoke passes very close to the sensor, almost touching it. I originally had it aligned with the round part of the sensor (should have read the manual ...) but now I can't seem to quite get the distance correct. The odd thing is the speedo seems to work as the speed increases but as the bike slows it doesn't reduce. Finally at rest the speed is still saying 18kph for a few seconds before falling back to zero. This is affecting the motor as it works great from start and speeding up but after slowing down doesn't re-start again, well for a while until the speedo sorts itself out. Any ideas? Keep fiddling with the magnet?

Thanks

That sounds more like some controller configuration issue. If so I'm sure someone will be around with more specific information and help.

From what I see in the three parameter tabs, there is nothing there that relates or affects speed sensing so nothing to adjust.
The recommended gap is 10 - 15mm for spoke magnet, if he gap is too far then try placing a neodymium magnet on the spoke magnet to get the gap correct.

thanks for the replies.

I have the spacing correct now, speedo increases with speed and decreases as well. One thing I didn't notice before, when I pull the brake levers (ones supplied with kit to cut the motor) the speedo freezes at the speed you are going when you pull the brakes, after releasing the brakes it takes a second or so to re-sync then the motor seems to carry on as usual. I can't recall it doing this before my throttle failed which was the start of all this.
