I believe yes it can be done, it must have been on one of the huge tsdz threads on ES where I have seen it.

Thanks for the info and hopefully someone with more knowledge than myself will be along shortly.

Now that is an interesting observation. Can you measure the voltage when it is fully charged? for a 36v battery, it should be around 41.5v and also what is the voltage at the point the motor operates correctly.

And finally, is the motor on stock firmware or Open Source Firmware?
Hi
I will try to measure the battery volt s in both conditions....It must be under 41.5V, right ?
But it seem be like a "spike" because it run correctly after and before the issue....it turn off completely motor and display also, the battery stays on I think.
I can't recorder the change of volts during the run.
The motor has the original firmware.
Many thanks.

If it isn't the display at fault then one has to suspect a glitch with the controller.

When the display turns off/shuts down typically it is because power/voltage has been cut.
When the display turned off did you go over any bumps, pot holes or rough terrain ?

Yes.

But in this case , when sotfware detect over voltage , the display remain on , right ?
Yes, but that post goes to show that over-voltage can be a problem for the controller, so measuring the voltage will be useful if for no other reason than it can be eliminated as one of the possible causes.

I was led to ask you about the voltage as you said earlier:
It turn off itself every 20minutes with a full charged battery , when the battery is under 50% the problem dissappear.
Did this happen just the once? If you have had this combination of factors repeated times, then it is the strongest clue so far.

Yes it is the case, it happens usually in this conditions...
I have measured now the battery voltage fully charged without load and it is 41.9 volt...too high ?
It is true that i run on rought terrain but the cut off is not immediate and always on the bump , it seems like just after the bump when i stop pedaling for not damage my ass :)...
I fixed the battery with an elastic rope but nothing , I shaked the bike heavily....nothing..
Is there probabily a ghost on my ebike ???

So if I have understood you guys are telling me that the display and motor switch off because the power has been cut...right ?
High voltage does not switch off the display but only the motor in any case.....in my case is 41.9v but do not cut...perhaps..

A known problem is a dry joint on the display pcb end cable another fault is the over volt on a fresh charged battery
Ok I understood....for me in italian language is a. "cold solder" but I have understood.
I hope the display is delivered quickly and i will try with the new one.....then I open the old one and check it.

A dry joint can give a false contact = a false voltage supply, something you are experiencing. The shut down could be this despite the battery having good voltage, the display doesn't read the voltage correctly so shuts down.

The display is low volts powered by a 5 volt rail supply, when i used the tsdz2 had to buy a spare display to fault find but found the vlcd5 8 pin the best /with the least problems

The OP is using a VLCD6 which may be using a 6-pin Higo cable unless they went for eBrakes and/or the throttle option in which case it will be the 8-pin cable.

@Nealh - I mentioned the possibility of bypassing the VLCD6 display in a couple of posts above - below is the pinout of the 6-way and 8-way Higo connector - do you think the display could be bypassed in some why to operate the bike without it?

Hi guys
Finnaly I fixed it
It was the negative metal spring contact between the battery and frame. It was burned for spike.
Now I have soldered a couple of wire from the inside of tge battery and connect with motor wire with a screw connection. It work very weel, the motor seem more powerfull also.
In the future I have to think about something easier to disassemble .
Today a very long ride is waiting for me.
A friend suggest me to grease the metal spring contacts with an appropriate product.......next time...

Glad you found the issue as I mentioned in #25 the reason for the shutting down.
It is logic that is needed to cypher some issues.
Just like your tv or other appliance that suddenly turns off the point to look at is power supply and it's delivery.

It is hard to dectect the exactly connection that cause the issue, i have cheked the whole system but it was an occasional problem, when it is become worst I found.
Funny is the factory of the battery , there are six metal spring contacts but only two were used.

The reason for the extra contacts is because some brands may want to add extra comm's for the charger or controller so one can't buy cheaper replacement stuff or allow on bike charging so use two extra pins for a separate charge port if the battery one is unavailable when on the bike.

One can omit the display by shorting V.battery to Vin. So Green to White on the 6 pin & Red to Blue on the 8 pin.
