Depending on when and where you bought it, the motor could still be under warranty.
In any case you could still invoke primary legislation newly enacted which states that goods sold must be of merchantable quality and fit for purpose and nullifies manufacturers claims of one year cut-off points. Check your legal rights, they have just changed. As the years go on, you can expect a pro-rata warranty state. You will have little compensation after 9 years, but after two you can expect a good deal more.
