Can anyone enlighten me on the llifespan of a TDSZ2 in standard form in terms of mileage. I assume that these can be repaired in some circumstances so an estimate of the amount of attention as well as the total lifespan would be useful.

How doe thes it compare to other mid drives in these terms.

service interval: around 4,000 miles. Mainly new ballbearings and grease.
you may have to replace the clutches (blue gear's and main gear's needle bearings) before that, depending on how fast you ride.

They are about same.

Thanks Woosh for the speedy reply, I would be hoping to get at least twice that distance, so reading your reply I should allow for replacement of the bearings at least. Are the bearings loose or they do they have to be pressed into the casing, is this a DIY job?

I do not intend to give it a hard time so clutches may not be an issue but would they be replaced at 4000miles.

Assuming these components can be sourced have an Idea of the costs involved.

The bearings are on ebay, amazon etc.
the clutches are on aliexpress- a bit more expensive.
Just google TSDZ2 blue gear.
I get them from Tongsheng.
