I am looking at buying an electric bike been reading the reviews on the forum and like the sound of the trek Fx. Does anyone know the difference between 2009 and 2010 version as a local shop is selling the 2009 quite a bit cheaper.

The Trek does look very nice, and there's got to be confidence from buying from one of the world's largest quality bicycle manufacturers. Sorry, i dont know the difference between the two models though.

Basically the same bike except a colour change as far as i was aware. BUT massive changes for the 2011 model, all for the worse unfortunately so make sure its not a 2011 which is the current model. My Trek is a 2010 and its a grey silver colour so double check. The quick and easy way to check is the 2010 model has a carbon fork and the battery capacity is higher. As i have said previously you cannot just compare battery capacity's as the Trek system seems to be more efficient so get away with on paper smaller battery capacity. But on saying that i would say the 2010 model is the lowest capacity battery i would like so the 2011 model is too small. Yes Trek are famous for their customer service and being one of the largest bike firms in the world you should have no worry's.

Hi rudebhoy

It might be worth hanging on for the New Image Bionx in March.

This model compares well with the Trek FX and similarly priced.

All the best

Scott
Thanks for the reply . Looks an interesting bike, just worried about if things were to go wrong technically with these electric bikes , I like the thought of a local dealer.

Thanks for the reply. If it is just the colour then might as well go for the reduced bike.
