Torque to Cadence conversion

Hi guy,

My wife bought a Riverside from Decathlon in Spain where we live, but she finds the torque-assist now makes her hip joint hurt (the reason why we bought E Bikes).

I have a MoMa E-MTB with a cadence sensor which is the better option for her, but its too big and heavy.

Is there a way to convert the Riverside to a cadence or even add a throttle by changing the sensor or and controller?

It can be done, but you'd have to change the controller and LCD and wire them in.

Would it have to be any particular brand of controller?

By far the best after market controllers are KT brand with a choice of about a dozen lcd displays to choose from.
Some wire soldering will likely be needed.

Most of us prefer KT controllers, which you can find on Ebay, Aliexpress, Amazon and from our favourite Chinese resellers, like Greenbikekit, Topbikekit, PSWPower and BMSBattery. You have to learn what they look like because most people don't list them as being KT.

Ciclotek in Spain sell kits and KT controller accessories, if you are not happy buying from China direct then they might be an option.
All KT can have a throttle added, for PAS the best option is two part sensor & disc set up they are less trouble some then the al-in one's.
