Top speed restriction

Hi. I recently tried out a Woosh Big Bear and a Woosh Santana CD. The power cut off at 15mph and then come back on when my speed dropped was noticeable.

I read somewhere the top speed restriction can be adjusted a bit by the King Meter which means the power on/off/on effect is less pronounced because it happens at a higher speed, say. 18mph. Questions:
1. Is this true?
2. Does the King Meter need to be adjusted to a higher speed every trip because it defaults to 15 mph or once adjusted stay at the newly selected top speed?

Is going to 18mph illegal? I know there is some leeway but not quite sure what it is.

17.1785 mph is the maximum allowed.

Unless there have been changes you can’t programme the King Meter to cut out at 18 mph. It goes from 25kph to the next one at 30kph. So that’s a little over 19mph. It does make it much smoother and you don’t get the riding into a brick wall effect, but it isn’t legal.

However rather like the women who said she was only a little bit pregnant you could say it was only a little bit illegal. Maybe?

you can increment the speed limiter by 1 km/h from 1km/h to 59km/h. 18mph = 29kph.
Then set the display to mph.

Must have been changes then. I couldn’t do that when I had a Woosh last spring.

Still like being a very little bit pregnant though.

Just out of interest if you ramped it all the way up to the max, would it burn out the motor? A BPM motor that is (Zephyr B)

No. It gives it an easier time. You weren't expecting that were you? It's because the current goes down as the speed goes up. The only thing that troubles these motors is going too slow.
