Hi, my name is Charlie, I’m in my mid fifties and started piling on the pounds as a result of inactivity due to a knee injury. Walking has alway been my go to fitness routine but with the knee that proved too difficult. Fed up of the sedentary life that had become mine I decided to tryout the wife’s e-bike a Greenedge stepthrough she commutes to work on (15 mile round trip) 4 days a week. Wow, I had reservations at first what with the knee and being power assisted wouldn’t it just be a futile excuse for exercise. Well I am really impressed. Whilst the e-bike got me off my lazy rear end it also proved I can work the knee without over stressing the joint and at the same time putting as much cardio exercise in as I feel comfortable with.
So two weeks ago, after a lot of procrastinating, review reading and indecision took the plunge and ordered my very first e-bike through e-bikes direct and took delivery of a spanking new Oxygen S-Cross MTB last Thursday.
Initial issues with the bike! Well nothing of significant, delivery was as stated by e-bikesdirect and they were brilliant in keeping me informed of the process. Full marks to the guys at Bodiam. I had ordered a Pannier and bag as I will be using the bike to commute to work, unfortunately these are just not suited to the bike so will be going back today to hopefully be exchanged for something more useful.
So far I am really impressed with the Oxygen. First run out I had a
Major issue climbing a 15% hill just up the road, my wife just scooted past while I really struggled in 1st gear, this I have to say worries me for a time thinking I had bought completely the wrong bike but on closer examination I noticed that when the power switched on for a brief few seconds Error 25 would flash up, I also had noticed that power assist level 4,5&6 didn’t really seem to assist. Searching this forum and finding a kind of solution from Andy Bluenoes (Thanks for the fab ongoing review helped
Make my decision to buy), I disconnected the brake sensor cables have them a wipe and reconnected. Totally different bike. First 100 Miles complete looking forward to the next 1000.

I've just got the Oxygen MTB loving it, put some marathon plus tyres on it and it's loads better, you need the hydraulic brakes!

When I picked mine up last Saturday, the dealer said he has the last one available until the next shipment in August. Said they can't meet the demand currently.

We spoke to Damian at SYEBC last weekend (put our Oxygen in for a checkover) he said just that about deliveries. Very popular bike and great Company to deal with.

Did you have problems changing the tyres?
Was Slime installed in the tubes?

JpGiant the marathon plus tyres are a tight tyre, watched a you tube vid on how to install easier using a tie wrap to assist much easier that way. Also people recommended using 26" inner tubes on the 27.5" rim as less chance of nipping them when installing worked fine.

Not put any slime in but thinking of doing so.
