Tongxin motors (250W/190RPM/80mm) for sale

Hi,

I have 1 of these motors for sale after a miscommunication with "Billy" resulted in him sending me a 100mm motor with a gap for a "roller" brake. In other words a 80mm motor with a spacer and longer axle ("100mm").

Now I realise these are of limited use for Brompton style conversions due to the 190RPM speed and the DIY hackery that needs to be done so with that in mind I'm doing a pretty good deal on them (considering the loss I've made with P&P from China).

1 x motor = £65 (ono)
1 x 250W controller = £15 (ono)
1 x thumb throttle = £5 (ono)

Am willing to do discounts if you want to buy all items together.

Hi,

Is there any reason why these hubs would not be suitable for use in a 700c wheel fitted to a fork with 100mm axle spacing?

The only issue I can see would be that the wheel build would have to be dished.

Am I missing something else?

Yes I think that would be fine. I'm just not that good a wheel builder to attempt it myself. I'm not sure what performance differences there are between the "real" 100mm tongxin and these 80mm versions (with 100mm axle spacers).

If anyone wants to buy a set to try this out then I and others would be interested in the results.

Yep - exact same kit (without the brake levers). I'm in central London but postage and packing anywhere in the UK should be around £8 so not too bad.
