OK guys.....finally got my mitts on the Esprit.....
Where to start......first the throttle.......it was a mistake on Tonaros side and the throttles will be winging their way over to Phil this week hopefully, ready for a quick and easy retro-fit......problem solved thank god.....but at least this way, if anyone just wants pure pedelec....they now have the choice.....though why anyone wouldnt want the throttle is a mystery to me....
First impressions at the moment....
It looks GREAT and I mean GREAT......at first I hadnt been keen on white.....but there were loads of white bikes yesterday at the NEC and now I love the colour.....yeah I know, colour is a girly thing....but it looks smart, nice tan leather effect saddle and grips.....smart Tonaro decal....lovely

It is FAST.....I got a bit of a wake up call after being used to my Windsor......I actually very nearly ran Phil over in the car park he had to jump pretty quick anyway....it is very responsive.....

It is very well built.....looks like a real quality bike....which it is.....most cables neatly fitted inside the frame...
So, off I set with it on the back of the van and headed to the site where I am storing my Motorhome, and cycled back to Ilminster on it....only 8 miles but it sailed up those hills, what its going to be like with the throttle fitted I can only get more excited....

The battery is very neat, with a good strong rack over and around it, the motor is even more discreet than on the mens models....the big hit etc

I will do a detailed write up after testing it thoroughly but at the moment I absolutely LOVE it....way better than expectations.....and as for my personal problem of having to lift it single handed onto my too high bike rack.....well....I am determined to solve that one way or another.....I WANT IT.....

If i wasnt so shattered after an extremely busy 2 1/2 weeks travelling etc and a late night arrival home where I couldnt even access the town because of the carnival procession, I would still be out on it now.....but tomorrow is another day, and i will start by going back over all my usual rides on the windsor to compare it properly.....what am I talking about......there is NO comparison, this is one special bike and real value for money with nothing to touch it for spec for the price on the market at the moment, so watch this space, i will get down to more technical details later when my brain is functioning better.....

Lynda......a very excited Lynda.....

Congratulations Lynda it sounds Fab!
As far as the throttle is concerned I would always rather have the Pedelec sensor.
While I do use the throttle on my Bearprint Ebike it is only really when pulling away at traffic lights, etc.
For regular use I always rely on the sensor.
The new Esprit looks to be a brilliant combination of gearing and crank motor, I am quite jealous.
Have a great time!
Best wishes,
Barry.

Unlike Bazwaldo, I am only going to say this once Lynda (in English with a bad French accent):p

Can I take it from your post that you like it:rolleyes:

How did it compare to anything you rode at the NEC?

Regards,

Thanks Barrie....so good you posted it twice eh ?

As for the throttle I never use my throttle either but its just great to have it when needed, as you said.
Best of both worlds.

Try a spanish accent then I would understand you better lol

I love it....

But it didnt compare to anything I rode at the NEC, mainly because I didnt actually ride any bikes.....I'm a 'one bike' faithfull girl.....and I knew what was coming the next day.....

Yes, there's some good riding to be had. I'll be investigating as much as I can in the coming months (weather permitting ). I haven't been on my bike at all for nearly a month as I had a bit of an injury to some fingers though I expect to be able to get out next week.

That was some "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" , Lynda, it must be good!. I'm really pleased that you like it, and really frustrated that I live 500 miles away from Powerpedals. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes , I'll be hanging on to your every word and trying to stop myself from phoning Phil and just buying one without even seeing it! Happy pedalling!:D

Well done Lynda on taking delivery of that Tonaro .I`ll be expecting to see a record time posted for the return trip from Ilminster to Yeovil Town Centre or Preston Plucknett Church to avoid the one way nonsense .
