Hi Roy, I think you're probably right about the power output. I don't want to avoid hills,it'd spoil all my favourite rides !
I have a Genesis Croix de Fer with a front hub kit fitted,36v 250w with 13ah battery. It's a bit of a lump ,weighs 20kg but rides nicely with and without power. I don't know how the power output compares to the Gain but I find it has plenty of power for the hills.
I'll have a look at the Giant . I quite fancy the Bianchi eroad but it's 4 grand !
I'll be interested to hear your views when you've experienced your new bike.Happy cycling,
