Thanks, clearly options then. I'll investigate these. It seems all need a combination of connectivity to an adaptor then. I had hoped that there would be a single cable with a mini-usb jack at one end and a lightning jack at the other but it seems not. Many thanks for your speedy replies.

True, cordless connectivity seems to be the way they're going, great in the car with an Qi pad but no good on a bike.
