Perusing again, and came across an in frame 48v battery that looks pretty cool.
Certainly better looking than your normal run of the mill round bottle style battery:
48v 10.4Ah in frame lithium ion battery
It states max continuous discharge current of 25 amps, although the seller contradicts this a little in their blurb, but I reckon this would fare well with a MAC 12T hub motor and 25A controller.
The 12T is very forgiving on controllers, so even full throttle runs would see a continuous current draw of way less than 25 amps. Would only peak momentarily on start ups and short steep climbs.
Has a handy little USB charging pot set in the casing too.
To me aesthetics is important and this ticks all the right boxes. it's also fairly light and £290 won't break the bank.
Maybe when my current battery gives up the ghost, I might go this route. A half decent, powerful set up could be built for less than a grand.
Perhaps someone can beat me to it, build a bike and give a review on this battery
