Woosh,
Yes I did, but in the light of 6 years experience of FreeGo I would definitely recommend one. I would also buy another at the drop of a hat, but I am looking for a full-suspension machine to cope with the parlous state of UK roads.
I fully appreciate the reluctance of a newcomer to put their toe in the water with a bike whose maker has just gone bust, but if the purchaser has a good LBS like Brighton Ebikes then there will be plenty of knowledgeable backup and generic spares available.

Alternatively, for a no risk solution, then buy a brand new Woosh!
Wow £400 is good value, you're like having my own personal search engine!

Okay Mandy, here's just the thing for you and what's more it is around the corner at BN2 0LA:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Freego-Eagle-Electric-Bike-Used-With-Battery-Charger-Nice-Clean-Condition/163567093315?_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=2&asc=20160323102634&meid=4c82049d74d54ac7a87e1c9024221e53&pid=100623&rk=2&rkt=6&mehot=pp&sd=202607105535&itm=163567093315&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1

If you ask nicely, you may be be allowed to view it before the auction ends.

There are 24 bids already (£205.99) so there is plenty of interest in a used FreeGo Eagle in the Brighton area with collection only. I suspect that it will end up at about £300 to £350.

With a new battery from Jimmy at Insat (say £300), tyres, tubes and a squirt of oil, you will be all set to tackle those hills, not forgetting that it can be collected easily and cheaply!!

I thought she wanted a step through bike.
