it's very similar to the current kit, except that the battery and controller are running at 48V instead of 36V. You can use them with 48V motor or 36V BPM motor.

So it's still the 350w BPM? Any chance you'll be getting the 500w BPM ?
that's about the most torquey hub motor we have Anthony.
At 48V, you have the same torque but can go a little faster.

ok, finally got onto a laptop so i can view your website properly.

im looking at this
Product ID: 122-HubKit-BPM-17AH
if i understand you, this is 36v and 350w.
is this in stock?
as im never in much of a rush on the roads would i notice much difference waiting for the 48v controller/battery?
if i felt the need in the future could i just upgrade the controller and Macgyver a 48v battery pack with the boxes of rc lipos i have scattered around my workshop.

yes. They are in stock. You can get it with 15AH battery or 17AH battery.

I am hoping that the 48V kits will get popular next year - it's a bit early to talk about it at the moment. I have ordered BPM, SWX02 and XF08C wheels to go with them.

I need to remind you that we can't guarantee the kit if you change the supplied specs.

What issues could I run into putting the 8 speed on the BPM in place of the 9speed Shimano I have now? Would knowing what I have on my bike now help you or maybe pics of it?

there is one thing you need to check afterward: the chainline.
Sometimes replacing the 8-speed cassette wheel by an 8-speed freewheel motor moves the chainline is slightly out of true by 1mm-2mm, we correct that by adding a 2mm spacer between the freewheel and the motor. You don't know for sure until after the new wheel is installed. When it's all done, you will also need to check the middle line of your bike, that the new motor wheel is centered, you may have to true the wheel again but that's not much work, about 10 minutes. We can give you a spoke key if you don't have one.

That's kits. What about bikes? Are you going to sell 48v bikes? I know there's some confusion about whether they would be legal...

We haven't decided yet.
I don't think the 48V bikes are illegal, as long as they are restricted to 15.5mph.

What's the delivery time on the BPM kit with 17ah battery? Would I need to change my 160mm rotor for a larger one?

it's usually prepped and sent the next business day.

Yes. The diameter of the BPM is 160mm. You can sometimes just about to get away with it but it's nicer to have 180mm rotor.
If you change the rotor, you need also to change the caliper mount for 180mm one.
That's the main reason to use the SWX02 which has about 90% of the BPM torque but weighs 1kg less and uses 160mm rotor, like in the Woosh Rio MTB.

Do you have the 17ah in a rack mount? Just measured my frame and I think it's too tight for a tube mount

Only in 15AH, Anthony.

What are the inside dimensions of your triangle?
Here are the dimension of the battery: 361mm (L) x 92mm (H) x 90mm (W)
