It's taken a few years of discussion, disagreement, grey hair growing and solution finding but we are almost ready to launch the Wisper Wayfarer range consisting of four entirely new bikes. We will be at Eurobike first week in September and a week later at The NEC in Birmingham.

Here are a few key stages within the many thousands of hours spent by the team preparing the birth of a brand new range of Wisper Electric Bikes.

Initial idea sketches

31658

Considering frame and positioning of centre motor

31659

From drawings to 3D renders

31660

Adding a hub motor to the range

31661

Designing and developing mudguards and front and rear racks

31662

Battery case development

31664

3D printing components, to check dimensions and "look"

31667

Hand building the first frames

31666

Painting the first frames

Ready for final tweaks...

Very smart e-bikes and good to see sensibly equipped utility versions.
.
Sadly, utility bikes seem to be very underrated in the UK when compared with other European countries. Hopefully that will change, especially with bikes that provide road comfort and light off road use. Georgehenry being a very good example of end user.
The option of hub drive is also a welcome sight.

Thanks Tony, the Carbon Wispers of 2019 were great but not our market. We only have a few carbon eMTBs left now and they have been very well received, however in the sports bike market brand is massively important, I had underestimated just how important. Brand seems to be even more important than ride or quality.

These bikes are what we should have been concentrating on!

All the best David

Thanks Eddie, we are in the process of moving production to and opening a warehouse and distribution centre in Portugal from where we can launch into the European markets for this very reason. With the UK buying 60,000 eBikes in 2018 and the rest of Europe 2,686,000 it seems to make sense.

These bikes are designed to be powerful and sturdily built to cope with on and off road riding.

The new 43V system packs a punch and our centre motor delivers 100Nm of torque. I have always been a great believer in hub drives so we have left them in our range. The hub drive bikes pack the same punch as the centre motor bikes... 50Nm at the wheel and will be significantly less expensive.

All the best, David

That's the nearest I've seen in the UK to the Radpower City. Putting front rack mountings on from the factory is common sense. You have the choice of using them if you wish, but at least they are there. Fork-mounted racks just cause problems. Is it difficult to find forks that will take a motor? Then you have a choice of transmission, and the (in my view) perfect bike! Easy to mount, weight in the right place, looks good. Centre stand and steering stabiliser and you're there. I keep seeing bikes like this in the USA, and wondering why we don't have them. It seems we will, now.
