It is all good practice.

The main thing to remember that it isn't a race to re fit it, and putting even tension on the bolts as you tighten, helps a lot.

A folding wedge technique as Eddie has described is a superb way of getting equal push back on the pistons.
I imagine Eddie a nice little bespoke ash pair or two.
