My super-dooper R & M Homage bike is off the road due to none functioning back brake. I chickened out of the trip to OnBike due to the virus and things and I am looking for a cheap folder. I'm tempted with MARTES Electric Folding Bike Fat Tire 20 4" with 48V 15Ah Lithium-ion battery, as seen on Amazon.

Is the 500W motor legal in the UK?

Otherwise, it looks fun. I have a 20" folder which I use on our country lanes, although not as rugged as the above.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a new brake. They're only £60 for the whole thing or a £30 Shimano one will probably work just as well.

£4500 for a bike, and it's grounded because the brake doesn't work??????? For that much money, I'd expect them to fly out a guy by helicopter to fix it within the hour.

Yes Croxden you are crazy . The Reviews are poor and if you ride it in the wet you will get a lapful of water . Besides it`s illegal with that motor . Play safe and get a Woosh Rambletta Folder with suspension for £899 .

It's a £6000.00 bike with the upgrades and Rohloff hub. I'm sure I could fix it if my fingers would work and wasn't so lazy.
But thanks for the reply.

Well, I've got my folder. I saw it advertised on 'tinternet and bought while under a bit of influence. I did have a brand new one in a basket of another seller but removed it and saved a few hundred. Somewhere on here I read of a chap who bought two but his other half wasn't taken with biking. I believe it is that bike so many thanks to the previous owner.
Grandson brought it this evening in the dark so not ridden far, way different than the Homage.
