I'm considering buying a converted tandem with Bafang SWXK2 motor and CON63 controller.
I'm not sure if its a KT LCD8H or Bafang C961 display; I need to verify with seller.

Does anyone have comments on the suitability of this setup?
In particular, I can't see the max amps output of the CON63.

Yes, the seller got his kit from Greenbike and that shows the CON 63. But the Greenbike pages
don't give any idea of the specs, in particular the max amps it can deliver.

The main reason for changing from our current (basic Viking) tandem is for easy step-thorough, but I was hoping as well it would be able to give better hill climbing that our just adequate XF07 with Lishui 17a (max) controller.

The con 63 is a 7 amp continuous controller with maximum current of 14 amps

Thanks. I guess the SWXK2/CON63 combination will not be that different from the XF07/Lishui combination.
Maybe nicer control from what some posters here strongly believe.
Differences in the behaviour on hills will probably be down to the windings and gearing,
and the difference of 700c vs 20" wheels.

I think you will find the KT much nicer to use than the Lishui.

The CON 63 looks well matched to the SWXK2.

It's a 15A square wave controller, and, if it has a control panel, it'll be an LED analogue type, but I think it has no control panel, though there may be a three-speed switch. Best to chuck it and upgrade to a KT sine wave controller and LCD. You'll be happier and so will the motor.

The listing you showed from Greenbike kit is the new Con63 controller, which is from KT. The original one they sold is completely different. It's the same as the old KU63 from BmS battery with no control panel. The KU65 and CON65 had an LED control panel - 790, I think.
