For Sale SWIFTY LIBERTE 36V ELECTRIC FOLDING BIKE BRAND NEW - PLEASE READ.

Bought this brand new out of the box , but it was boxed for two years. Never turned a pedal , everything works as it should brakes (double mech discs), gears but motor does not work. Battery tested at 41.7V.
Done all of the plugging unplugging but motor does not kick in. Had enough £100 collected WF81ST.

Shame.. i would bite your arm off if local, you only have a couple of things to check left, granted you will need a multi meter and its a tad more involved, but there are step by step walk through guides.

But sometimes its best to remove the source of frustration.. so I get it..

Bikes fitted with lcd displays can provide some error feedback, if your led display flashes when started it may be flashing an error code too if its a detected controller fault?? google for a manual for your display unit to confirm/reject..

of the 2 likely faults left to eliminate (controller mosfet failure, or motor hall sensor error/failure) one is a cheap fix and the other could cost upto £100 to replace the controller/display combo with the optimum replacement, while a hall sensor failure is cheap to replace (50p) Its a bit more of an involved job opening up the motor..

Thank you for advice / help, had enough, although hope that someone gets it going and tells me the fault too !
Dont mind packing it up in a halfords bike box, I used a courier firm called shiply do collections for reasonable amount.

Food for thought indeed.. If you are prepared to pack n send it would be worthwhile getting a mainland uk quote and adding that to the above ad/post..

Does the LED display light up /turn on ?
If so ;
is the hub motor connector 100% fully pushed home to the embossed line marked on the hub side of the connector ?
Does the PAS red led blink on/off when the crank is rotataed ?

Next thing to try is to stick your probes in the battery connector and keep them there while you switch on. You have to open the controller compartment to do that. If the voltage drops, you have a short. If there is a short, it's probably a blown MOSFET in the controller. If the voltage doesn't drop, the problem is elsewhere.
