Surprised that not more people on this forum have B'Twin ebikes

Hi, I posted my review of my B'Twin Elops 900E pedelec the other day, and looking around the forum I was surprised that not more people on pedelecs.co.uk seem to have them, since Decathlon is such a big retailer (they currently stock 6 bikes ranging from £650 to £1,800).

Did you look into Decathlon when you first started shopping around for your pedelec? It's dead handy for me as I live very close to two branches where I can have repairs etc done under warranty.

I have had 2 (see signature) but Decathlon didn't put the motor on, I did. A friend bought one on my advice as it was on sale at 30% off and I thought it was good value at that price.

Their problem is they are more expensive than the Chinese supermarket specials and not quite cheap enough when compared to other brands such as Cube.

Watch for more pedelecs from Decathlon in the near future, they have noticed the market growing and are investing in the sector apparently (according to Bike Europe news).

you have two Decathlon branches nearby, that's a good enough reason to choose one of their bikes. For many who do not live near a Decathlon branch, they would have to compare the Decathlon bikes against others on the internet. Take their Elops 940 for example, Shimano Steps (the low power version), 36V 11.6AH battery, cheap fork, cheap grips, cheap wheels, cheap pedals, cheap lights etc at £1,799 they don't compare against a Cube Hybrid at the same £1,799 for example.

A lot of these big bicycle retailers are too cumbersome to adapt to the latest developments and fashions in ebikes. That might change in the future as they get more specialist knowledge about them. Only Halfords seem to be on the ball. If their Crossfire hadn't been plagued with reliability issues, they could have cleaned up. No doubt they too will learn from their mistakes.

We had a couple of Rockrider (8.1?) which were excellent pedal bikes. They had a good spec, well built and at a very reasonable price. However having moved we no longer have a convenient Decathalon, otherwise I would have no hesitation in exploring their Pedelecs.
Our Crossfires are similar in that they are relatively budget bikes and with a fair spec. That said we have a very well staffed and convenient Halfords and our cutouts, whilst they’ve happened, are so insignificant to be negligible.

At £62 a pair, you paid too much for your Energiser tyres...could of got them from SJS cycles for £24 per pair (not a one off price, always this price)

I've a Riverside 7 that I'm thinking of converting. It's a good bike - Deore XT, Magura hydraulics, nice componentry and a good, if a little heavy, ally frame. Might make a nice conversion.
