Saw a small story about tax breaks to steer us to e-bikes in The Sunday Times.

Worth 32% for basic tax payers and 42% for higher.

Also proposing to sweep away £1000 limit on value of bikes eligible with no limit for e-bikes.

Might make my fantasy Reise and Muller top of the range Delite slightly more affordable.

But would it make me happy!

If this going to be simply an extension of the CTW scheme it's not going to help the older, non working cyclist. How about an ebike-on-prescription scheme as well for those that need them?
If you're disabled in any way, some of the societies that support the various disabilities give grants for mobility. Two forum members got grants for ebikes from the MS Society.

That's commendable and welcome support for those that need it. But hardly universal. It's always seemed a little unfair that there is no equivalent to the CTW scheme to encourage other retired, non working and less able to take up cycling, especially given the health benefits of doing so.

And people in work whose firm doesn't offer cycle to work schemes
