Found i had burnt my head while riding yesterday, didn't realise the vents were as big as they are in helmet. Anyone recomend a sunscreen that won't run into eyes and sting.

Perhaps Tin Foil?
Or something else that does not allow light through?
Simply cover inside the helmet where the vents are for summer and uncover them when the summer has gone...Possibly.
It will need to be tested as this will reduce cooling I would imagine.

I wear a du rag /bandana under my lid, it soaks the sweat and keeps the bugs from crawling in my hair. When I brought mine they were 5 for a fiver so I have a freshly washed one on each ride.

Seriously though even with a head of hair one will get sun stroke out in this weather, I wear a Lidl Bmx/ski type helmet or a Dudes helmet with a few air vents in the top.
A thin skull cap/beanie can be warn under one or a bandana as already mentioned, I myself prefer and use a multiuse Buff which can be worn in several ways.

Head (and any part of the body) protection, to stop sunburn, needs to be black, as this absorbs the suns energy as heat itself.
Not white, as this may transmit the Sun's UV energy to your scalp, almost as well as, as bad as? as not having the protection at all.
The Arabs who live in the Sahara know this and always have black flowing robes.
Also, think sunglasses, also dark!
Best wishes from someone with a very fair skin, who knows sunburn!

I use lidl sunscreen which is better for me as I hate a boiling head when riding. A hanky in your top pocket when sweat is an issue or if you’re sweating a lot, turn up the motor
