Suggestions please!

Partner is considering an ebike.
She is about 5' 3"
Stepthrough necessary - or possibly a very low trapezium/mixte.
Has issues which make a throttle desirable - might not be essential but wouldn't wish to block the option in future.
The light operation of hydraulic disc brakes would be appreciated.
Comfort is highly desirable - whether from suspension, tyres, seatpost.
Main use would be on tarmac - we have some decent cycle paths alongside roads! We also have some pretty steep hills even in town.
Range unlikely to be important - that is, the range offered by almost any ebike would be sufficient for all anticipated use.

Woosh Crusa has a nice look about it with 13ah battery, balloon tires for light off road and road for 5'- 3" and up. Out of there range I think it looks the nicest of the step thru's and not costing the earth.

Brighter colour!
Hub gear
Battery not over rear wheel. This is just because we both dislike the look of them.

However, I am quite sure we will have to accept some compromises.

This one only compromises on the colour but a tin of spray paint will sort that out .
For hub gears usually means crank drive and upping the budget sign up to British Cycling for about £30 and get 10% off at Halfords.

Comfort is highly desirable - whether from suspension, tyres, seatpost.

it's difficult to accommodate a suspension seat post to suit a 5ft3 rider on a full size bike. Some women prefer to be able to touch the ground on both sides.
I would suggest the Woosh Petite. It has front Suntour suspension fork and 2" wide 24" tyres, quite comfortable to ride with normal seat post but still lets you fit a suspension post for your wife.

It does not have a hub gear but people who ride the Petite tend to settle for a gear that suits their cadence (usually 5th, 6th or 7th), the motor is flexible enough to take in all sorts of terrain, they don't need to change gear. The Petite also has a full speed throttle fitted.
