sugestions for tyre for 700c rear moter wheel

merry xmas I have just purchased from ebc a kit to fit my spec sirrus elite , 700c 250w rear moter wheel inner width of rim 19mm.

on the front marathon plus 700x 25c with slime tube PRESTA valve , the moter wheel has a larger hole more suited to shrader, (ihave just ordered of ebay a grommit to reduce hole to suite presta valve if need be)
I have 700x28c m plus PRESTA I could fit to the rear moter wheel.

but puncture protection is main priority I was thinking of using Halfords puncture resistant tire but 700x35 bit more traction but shrader valve add slime ,or slime tube.#

I have a bit of leeway where the original wheel sits in the frame app 25mm in front and almost 10mm either side of rim.
so I could possible fit something a bit wider the bike is a bit harsh on the backside if tyres are over 60psi

not sure whats best for traction a bit of road /canal path now and then.

suggestions please

My 700c has Continental 28mm's at the mo and the ride is a bit skitty and bumpy on tracks so my next move is to go 35mm may be with Panaracer cyclocross/cindercross 35c's. This is prompted by the winter change over from 28 to 38mm studded winter tyres on my commute bike and the comfort factor is far better.

For the maximum puncture protection combined with a fair degree of grip, the Tour version of Schwalbe's Marathon Plus tyre is a good choice.

In the 700 size there's a choice of widths, 35mm, 42mm or 47mm.

They are shown in the continental sizes as 622 on this link, but that's still 700 size. The imperial inch sizes are also given. Not cheap but very effective and classified as e-bike ready.

There is always a compromise to be achieved with bicycle tyres and while I empathise with Nealh's comment about Continentals, I have no hesitation in endorsing flecc's suggestion of MPs.

The Schwalbe MPs may not offer the ultimate in grip but on balance, I'm happy with them on account of their robustness, puncture resistance and tread longevity. Those are desirable qualities for my type of riding which is entirely leisure/utility.

as I will have 700x 25 or 28 m plus on the front.

That's a fair price for the MP tyre. I'm surprised you haven't seenm a price for the Tour version, there's plenty showing in Google. Here's one at Wiggle for example.

I hope you got bought the Tour version, the standard one isn't as grippy.

I'll mention it but I'm sure you have probably noticed that many of the bike shops have already begun offering their January sale prices. MP Tours are available in Wiggle, Chain Reaction and Halfraud's for under £30.00. Size-dependent but £27.49 was the price on one size, I noticed.

I have the Tour model and I'm delighted by them.

I usually find the keenest prices for Schwalbe tyres are from the German suppliers – even including the delivery charge.

I've had good service from both these companies:

i do a lot of commuting i have done 2000 miles this year and i have only had one puncture that i use.

1) Schwable marthron plus 700x38b
2) Schwable Presste Valve Tube
3) Fenwicks Tyre Sealant

i had a puncture on the 700 miles mark and thought right i needs something a bit stronger to stop me getting punctures so i bought
some fenwicks tyre sealant and it done the trick i haven't had
a puncture yet.

I have tried slime in the past and i have found it has been a waste of time
and it not worth the hassle Fenwicks seem to be a lot better and you can
blow back up with co2 canisters and it also last for three years in the tyre
before you have throw away the tube which is quite good.

i have ridden over glass thorns everything that has been on the road and i still haven't had good blow out with using Fenwicks Tyre Sealant

I bought this tyre sealant because sometimes i have to commute very late
at night and a lot of the roads that i am cycling down their is zero light at
all so what ever light you have is your light and i thought i don't really want
to be fixing a puncture in the dark at all really i just want to ride home.

i have been up canal paths with this system and it work perfect havent had no problems at all.
