Best way to join is via a laptop/desktop etc then just log in on your phone afterwards.
I dont use Strava competitively but just so I and my mates can see where I have been.
It is nice to see if similar rides start taking shorter times as it means my fitness is increasing (or the wind is blowing the right way).
When I first got the bike I did a few fast rides to see how long things would take but now I tend to ride slower and concentrate on battery economy.
I mean why blast around and have to be back home in 30 minutes when you can go slow and enjoy the beautiful scenery round here for a couple of hours.

Thanks Martin.
Just downloaded that and will give it a try shortly.
If we get kicked off Strava then we can always move to that.

Yes unfortunately when you make the ride private it will take the mileage of that ride off the total mileage on the club page.

/
I meant if I make the club private would it keep the results out of the mainstream and so just between club members

I'm fairly sure it wouldn't. I once asked them for an assisted category, but they haven't added one. Listing rides as work out or something else takes them off the leader board, but only running and cycling rack up miles in the total mileage odometer.

All that's no problem if your e-bike rides never get near the top of the leader board. I've had KOM's on half power. The only way I'd stay off the top spots is if I rode in eco mode, but my road bike is faster than eco.

Thanks for that.
We will just keep going for now and see what happens.
To be honest anything over 20Mph is either under leg power or gravity.
Plenty of lycras can almost double my speed on the hills round here.

Or wind ! I hit 35 mph on the flat it those high winds a few months back

I live on the seafront and it was howling ! Could have gone faster but half the stony beach had been chucked onto the road and/or cycle path

It was rather hairy at that speed in places

Watching the tour average over 25 mph on sweat. We only get KOM,s with help. We should respect the Lycra.
But perhaps there should also be respect for the over 50's who still get out and try despite the many limitations that we share between us.
Electric bikes are Eco friendly and help people get out and work themselves.
Currently I am sticking to sweat propelled. And doing well at keeping my health up.
When the asthma and other difficulties kick in then I may resort to the electric tail wind.
Or perhaps for extreme range cycling?

I've just bagged 25 KOM's today, it has been flagged despite me saying it will be off the leader board within a day, no big deal really.

That's no good to me, I do not leave a single ride on the board done on the e-bike. Virtually every ride will have a KOM, and it isn't in the spirit of Strava to leave assisted rides on the leader board.
I suppose I could join to see how my non e-bike rides stack up though.

As know I do just the same, but had interesting short sharp ride on the Macina Lycan GPS+ this morning.

The bike is fitted with the most unsuitable tyres for the road imaginable, sounds like a Land Rover on SAT's, and rides in just the same way, wobbling everywhere, and yet the ride today which is a kind of bike test route for me, trounced several KOM's that were previously held for the BH, Haibike trekking, and the Panasonic KTM, and came close to beating the rest of the stats. This was the first time that I have used this bike for that route, and I only rode it as I wanted a short stay clean ride for once. http://www.strava.com/activities/231373422 Not bad for a dedicated 'legal' off road bike.

I'll pull the ride down later.

As a long time strava user I dont worry too much about the competition but use it to keep a log of my miles, some of which are on the e-bike, some on a road bike and some (especially this weather ) are on the trainer/road bike set up in the garage. For those that are registered but are having problems joining I just followed the link in this post, then signed in to Strava and hey presto, or hey Shrader as the case may be.
I have all my bikes set up in my profile and its easy to allocate a ride to any of them,..
It is pleasing to see someone making an effort by starting this club and am interested to see where it goes.... So well done!!

Thanks for that. I set this up thinking that it would be interesting to see where and how, other folk are riding their bikes and how various setups cope with different terrain.
I aint been on for 2 weeks as we have had almost constant 60 Mph winds!
Cant do any riding till at least Jan 5th now as my 2 disabled lads are at home till then (when the daycentre reopens). In the meantime I am hoping to get my BBS02 swapped onto my new \cannondale and all the goodies I have bought over the last few weeks will be fitted.
I live up on the moors above Teesdale so once the snow starts I may have a few weeks off but hopefully once spring hits we will all get going again and the club may take off.

I am hoping to have a couple of days break in Haworth in February and if it comes off I will be in touch and hopefully we can meet up.
Happy xmas to you all.
Take care
Bob

Thanks Bob.

It was ridden with no assist where possible, eco which I have up until recently felt a waste of time, two hills in tour, and the climb that I never made it up was unsuccessfully tackled in turbo mode. I returned with one bar remaining on the battery.

I don't understand. The Stava plot shows the steepest hill is about 10%, but your photo shows one about 30 deg, which is more or less 50%.

The scales are not in proportion. Horizontal is much higher ratio that vertical D8veh.
