Simon,

I think it comes down to what you use your bike for. I'm a big fan of pedelec, given that my commute is lots of long flat straights where holding a throttle open is painful.

However, there is no doubt that it can be handy on a pedelec bike to have the option of a throttle boost to get you up that hill, across that junction or past that slow-moving vehicle.

Let's hope we see good quality of both types!

John,

Good picture! Is it a photoshop job with the back of a Pro-connect and front of a motorless Agattu?

Well spotted Frank, you guessed it. I just can't understand why anyone would buy something without seeing a photo of what it looks like, and as yet there is no real photo of a bike:confused:
However if those same people would like to buy my house for a £1,000,000, I will happlily send them a photo after their funds have cleared my account:rolleyes:

John;)

I bought one in that way... firstly, the Kalkhoff range has a good reputation. Secondly, the Agattu is a current non-electric model and it's going to look pretty similar in many respect, thirdly, the step-through already exists, so build quality etc is apparent fourthly, all the technical spec is available... price is known and compares favourably with other bikes etc etc

People do buy houses unseen too actually, if enough info is available....... not really a fair comparison though as £1200 for a bike isn;t exactly the same as one mill for a house, is it?:)

I'd have no qualms about buying one without seeing a picture, pictures of it's sisters give a pretty good indication of it's appearance. And, unlike a house it's fully covered by the distance selling regulations so can be sent back for a full refund if you don't like it.
