IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THERE ARE, AS YET, NO PUBLISHED PHOTOS OF THE GENTS/DIAMOND/HERREN FRAME KALKHOFF AGATTU?
AS THE DEADLINE APPROACHES FOR 50cycles TO INCREASE THE PRICE OF THE AGATTU FROM £1195 TO £1346, I WONDER IF ANYONE HAS BEEN BOLD ENOUGH TO ORDER ONE WITHOUT SEEING WHAT THEY ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE?

Surely they just look like the non electric version, except with a battery behind the seat tube. It doesn't take much imagination to know what they will be like does it?
Unless of course those crazy Germans have gone for some weird off the wall frame design.

Leicester LE4, UK.
The basic shape is shown on the Kalkhoff website. As Martin has said it hardly requires a great feat of imagination to know what it will look like.

And in the unlikely event of it not being as expected the purchaser would be fully protected by the distance selling regulations.

agreed not much imagination at all. however, a picture of what you are selling is the usual way to go.

If they had a picture I am sure they would put it on their website. As far as I can tell they are still awaiting delivery of the bikes.
I can't see why it would be a reason not to order one though.

no reason at all should be a cracking bike too. its not unusual for the 50 cycles website to require a bit of interactive imagination either. be good to hear nmore about the kalkhoff when the diamond versions start getting sent out.

OK, here it is, see the attached file showing the XXL frame version. But is it what you imagined it to be:rolleyes:

John;)

Look what the Germans did with the Mini Countryman 5 door estate.
Great car, but look what they did with the doors:eek:
Some people might be a bit miffed if they bought one without seeing it first:rolleyes:

Sorry Grandad, that is the Pro-Connect, not the Gents version of the Agattu.

Going back to my original question, has anyone ordered an Agattu with a diamond frame?

Er, yes. Had a look at the Agattu 24g on the Kalkhoff site, and on the strength of that and the Ato B and Flecc's reviews squeezed the credit card until some money fell out. Had been tempted (briefly) to put the wood lathe to use and turn a top tube for a step through, possibly with a nice barley twist.

I've ordered one blind, relying on flecc's assessment of its likely merits for city commute against ProConnect. So it'll be his fault.

Real question for the forum is whether anyone who does want to pedal is still buying anything else after the Kalkhoff reviews?

I don't think we'll really know until the Spring and better weather. Bike sales are flat in the Winter usually, so the Kalkhoff sales at this time of the year are an unusual feature. How it pans out will be known later, and I suspect the many who like throttle control and more moped like characteristics will balance out the sales better as they start buying.

One factor impeding sales of powerful hub-motor bikes has been the reliability of Lithium batteries with those of course.
