April 26, 20205 yr So, there I was, coasting down this big long hill near the house and when I went to slow down, the front brake decided that it no longer wanted to do it's job. Luckily the rear was working. Checked it all over and decided that I needed a new set of brake pads. Looking online it's definitley not a one-size-fits-all choice out there. So here I am hoping the good folk here will be able to help out. The bike is a cheapo Myatu/Ancheer 'MTB' of 2017 vintage with 'Filel' branded brake calipers working on the usual rotor set up. Mechanical, not hydraulic. Looking online I cannot find reference to 'Filel' brand calipers, so am assuming it's another chinese knock off that no longer is in production or are now known by another name. So my question is [at last] can anyone tell me what brake pads will fit this set up. I'd normally let my local bike shop sort this out but as we're all in lockdown I suspect I'll need to get them online and try and sort things out myself.
April 26, 20205 yr If it fits, consider upgrading to a Shimano M545 mechanical disc setup. I did this and it is far nicer and easier to set up then the plastic rubbish originally fitted to my bike, it was CE marked which I understood to be Chinese Export.

April 29, 20223 yr it was CE marked which I understood to be Chinese Export. . Nice idea but not so! The Conformitè Europëenne (CE) Mark is defined as the European Union's (EU) mandatory conformity marking for regulating the goods sold within the European Economic Area (EEA) since 1985. The CE marking represents a manufacturer's declaration that products comply with the EU's New Approach Directives. .
April 29, 20223 yr The picture is the previous thread. Ok, I wasn't clear whether finding pads or finding exactly the same pads as the previous pic was the issue! Now I'm clear!

I did have to do some minor surgery to the metal shoe to make them fit.
March 8, 20233 yr Had the same problem finding pads for my cheap fucare 20 inch ebike. Company and chat room were no help, but carefully measured and found replacement discs on amazon for only $7.99. Found adjustment allen screw on opposite side of single plunger set, which changes the depth of the system. Mine were very loose making adjustments difficult. An easy fix found on Utube. Discs were from Micro Trader for Tektro Volens Auriga
