To illustrate that, I bought the car at the beginning of January and ran around for 32 miles straight after collection to familiarise myself with it.

Now, nearly two months later, it's reached the total reading of 65 miles on the clock.

That's already happened with the last two Martin. The Skoda Fabia had 6032 miles on the clock at 4.5 years, since I did use that for the longer trips as well.

Before that I had a Fiat Tipo that I sold at nearly 11 years old with 14,000 on the clock, 8000 miles of that in the first three years in support of an aging relative.

Both went to buyers with every petrol receipt for their life, showing where they'd been and what they'd done. That's a history!

Those were in my retirement, but in my working life I could exceed 35,000 miles a year at times, so global warming is probably all my fault.
