Spotted! Although, not quite an ebike. :)

I saw this cheater on a 1kw electronic scooter. Chasing him in hot pursuit, I accused him of crimes of falsehood, misrepresentation, deceit and fraudulently fooling 'Joe Public' into thinking that he was a regular kick or push scooter! As I pulled him over onto the soft shoulder, he realised that the game was up and immediately confessed his sins.

He was pretty cool about it all too. :D

LP - I think your harassment of other riders is becoming obsessive. I think you are in danger of getting a smack in the mouth :(

Following and matching the speed of another bike or scooter, whilst waiting to safely overtake, hardly amounts to harassment. The vast majority I overtake don't even know that I'm behind them. Often down to their earphones blocking their sense of hearing. Others, freely engage in conversation when spoken with.

However, let's assume that someone did get upset, and did try to smack me in the mouth, as you put it. I like to think that I'd be ready for any such event and hopefully my dog won't be with me, if anyone is foolish enough to try and do that. :)

Would you be harassed if an ebike was following you for any length of time Jim? What distance would constitute harassment to you?

Would you assault the rider for following you? Perhaps pull over and let them pass safely could be a more appropriate option? Would you perhaps see it as a challenge to a race and try to speed off? Would you call the police and say; "I'd like to report that I'm being harassed by a bike that has been following my own bike for a couple of miles at the park?"

Are there any options that I've missed? You could always try a crash for cash scenario I suppose. That's very popular right now.

The majority of my alleged 'victims' stop and chat sociably about this and that. Some are even known to me. Or have you not been paying attention? :)

Leigh saying hello and being friendly, actually talking to strangers an admirable quality.
I reckon so. Even though my mum told me not to do that.

Jim does make a good point, if that's how it looks to him. With titles like 'E-Stalking', I'm bound to get slotted eventually. I promise to behave from now on. At least until next time. :)

I was repairing a 4-wheeled mobility scooter the other day, when we returned it I mentioned these 2-wheeled scooters. There are certain situations where having one would be handy, but it would need to have a 4 mph and 8 mph limiter for me to use it going round a show. The 8 mph ones need to be registered with the DVLA or at least they used to be, with a free VED disc on display, I need to check what has changed now the VED disc has been scrapped.

LP - My reply to your post was not intended to be offensive however that is how it seemed to come across and for that I apologise.
I'm happy to say that on quite a few occasions I have enjoyed a friendly chat with other cyclists, both electric and non-electric, on the merits or otherwise of our respective mounts and I hope that that will continue. Who knows, perhaps our cycle paths will cross some day and we can exchange opinions in person.

Jim, I'm not at all offended. I receive many threats and sometimes get assaulted in the course of my work. You kind of get used to dealing with that. Call me 'thick skinned' but not much offends me nowadays, and nothing shocks me anymore. Sad but true. So, when someone thinks something might be offensive, I really have to consider that it might be true to someone who has a regular lifestyle and maybe think twice in future.

Thanks anyhow. :)

LP - In my former occupation I experienced exactly what you describe. Thankfully that is now many years in the past however it probably made me more outspoken than I ought to be.
Regards.
