I don't see that it has to be a distraction as it logs all the data for you to look at it later. No need to have any display running when riding.

The latest releases with options to interrupt and change the throttle and max/min voltage/current make it look like a very useful device for us DIY geeks.

I think I am going to order one, though I read some new integrated unit into a controller is to be released later this year ?

Regards

Jerry

Yes this looks perfect for me. I have was going to order another cycle analyst for my Ezee conversion but this is less obtrusive (I don't need to see everything in real time all the time) and simpler to wire up.

I have bitten the bullet and ordered one now.

NRG I am planning to use an old Samsung Galaxy Portal hacked and running Android 2.1 and will not be running it on my every day phone a HTC Desire S. Any reason why you would have to use your iPhone ?

Let us know how you get on with it Jerry :) I'm definitely considering going down this route myself now instead of buying another LCD-console kit from Europe.. the speedict option is more hi-tech with many benefits like the tracking and mapping..it may even work out cheaper even when you factor in buying in a 2nd hand android smart phone ;-)

Hello, I am new to the forum, so excuse any mistakes I make.

I know this thread is quite old, I have converted a bike to ebike Using a bafang BBS02. I am only interested in the data logging just to get readouts on my battery.

I have just seen this Speedict thing, and I just wanted to know a couple of things if anyone can answer.

1. will this work with a bafang mid drive system.

2. which one should I get E.G. Mars Murcury or neptune?

3. How do I go about wiring it up my bike is my commuter so needs to be quite robust.

4.Is it difficult to set up?

For refernce Here is the battery I have at the moment

and here is the battery I will be getting soon

Thanks.

They're very easy to install and setup. There's two wires in from your battery and two out to the controller, so you just put it between the two. It will use a small bit of power all the time it's connected to a live battery, so it needs to be on a switced battery line to prevent draining the battery when you don't use the bike.

You download the app into your phone, pair the bluetooth, then it's working. It creates a new file each time you switch on and off. There's a sycronise function which sends the file up into the cloud, then you can alalyse it on your PC. I think you can see the details on your phone too.

It's probably best to fit the wheel-speed sensor that comes with it.

It has other functions to control speed, instant legaliation and things like that, but you need the special throttle adapter to do that.

The Venus is for 36v or lower systems, the Mars goes up to 80v amd the Mercury has the throttle adapter cables for speed control/legalisation.

This is the sort of thing you get from the cloud:

I like the look of this, do you still use your speedict?
Has there been these 'many upgrades' added?

I still use it from time to time. It's permanently fitted to my bike, but I only need it when I want to study something, like a new controller or battery, which has not been often recently. I also use it to compare how much battery I use for the same ride to see if I'm getting lazy, or to compare with my riding mate. We were seeing how little battery we could use for our rides - typically 100 Whs per 40 miles of hilly riding.

I have deans connectors on both ends, which I use on every bike i build/convert, so I can hoik it out and use it to collect any data I need. Whwn I'm working on batteries, I have my battery tester to provide data.
