Hi all,

I need an external speed sensor as I have a 24v KT sensorless controller. Which of these (pics attached) would be most suitable?
Only the last one is a speed sensor. The other two are pedal sensors.

Does your controller have a separate connector for a speed sensor? If not, you'll need to hack the wiring. In that case it might be cheaper to cut a sensor off a cycle computer.

The first two are V12L type PAS sensors and have nothing to do with speed, you need the last option.

All you need to do is make sure the wire order matches that of the controller connection. If not chnage the pin outs in the controller connector or simply cut both connectors off and solder/shrink the wire order correctly.
Magnet gap 5mm - 10mm max.

Speed sensor has now arrived. Which wheel should I attach it to - front or rear?

Rear wheel is most often used , one can stack magnets if a gap is too large. I have double up a magnet before now to reduce the gap.

I'm not sure what I have is KT brand as the thread has gone so can't tighten. I've seen a lot of these speed sensors advertised on ebay, but description says unbranded. Are these genuine KT components? Pic attached.

It doesn't matter if it's not genuine. They all work the same. Also you can use any magnet you want. You can buy them separately on Ebay.

Ah that's good to hear, Saneagle. I have a magnet from a Cateye wireless speed meter. I'll use it as it's easier to mount than this one. Thanks
