Hi to all on pedelecs!

Bought a Vanmoof S3 off of eBay, pickup only from Queensferry that is only 45 minutes from me

After making the purchase and getting the postcode from the seller I realised that it's Queensferry near Edinburgh!

Question for all on here, what is a reasonable cost shipper to collect this bike and bring it to Wilmslow?

Don't really fancy 9 hours in the car and £100 of fuel too!

Try Shipley, you advertise the job there (what, where from / where to) and couriers give you their best price.
It costs you nothing to advertise...

Check the couriers feedback before booking, a friend often uses the site to move cars - most jobs go well, some don't.

If the seller will dismantle (pull front wheel, handlebar stem, seat, and pedals ) to pack in a standard bike box most couriers will carry at a fixed rate. YOutube vids aplenty of the packing procedure, and if you cant get a free box from round the back of a bike shop some couriers will sell/deliver one with bubblewrap a day in advance of cycle pick up for a fee (circa £40 extra)

imo if packed in a bike box forget to mention the e aspect.. to avoid any jobsworth chucking a spanner in the works or extra fees.

I thought private sellers are banned from selling e-bikes on Ebay...

I hope you know what have you bought and how difficult it is to service that thing.

One of my sons sold me his Triumph Street Twin about six years ago. He contacted Shipley and accepted a bid, and paid the courier. The guy never picked up the bike and soon stopped answering his messages and calls. My son was out of pocket about £150 I think. WE had to arrange and pay again with some other courier company outside the Shipley setup. Shipley washed their hands of the problem of getting back the money, but said they had cancelled the courier's membership. I doubt that was a problem for the theif. I expect he just re-registered under a new disposable email.

I think Shipley returned the proportion of his lost money that was their commission, but the bandit courier man just vanished with the cash.

These people finally delivered the Triumph and did it well:

These people (link below) delivered my Royal Enfield last year and they were good too, but they took about a week from collecting the bike to delivering it.

I suppose they waited until they had a load going to the far north before putting it in their truck at the central depot.

Don't conceal the lithium ion battery from the courier. They are classified as dangerous goods and there is formal documentation and procedures surrounding their transportation. Not difficult, but a formal legal requirement, a criminal offence to not comply.

Any issues with an undeclared battery comes back to you.

Hello!
I advise you to look at courier services with online calculators on their websites.
