That's a fairly typical weekend pootle for me. Gives you an idea. Mixed riding, found a good few hills up around Herstmonceux and Cowbeech so it wasn't all on the flat.

I see on your photos the word manual. Do you have the hub gears? If so have you tried the auto shift mode?

'fraid not, I have a derailleur. I'd quite like to try a hub geared bike though, just to see what they're like.

Having read your review and others on the Coniston model I am veering towards buying one myself.

Perhaps a silly question but in your pictures of the display there is what appears to be a light symbol in the bottom right corner, can this connect to the display and battery to power a light, or does it do something else?

Cheers

No such thing as a silly question. Yes, integrated lights are an option (I don't have integral lights) and yes, that would be the button for them.

As for it doing something else. If you were to buy something to de-restrict this bike (fitted inside the motor housing rather than outside), then the light switch can be used to switch between restricted and de-restricted modes ;)

One thing I would say, if you do go for a Whyte, is don't buy their mudguards (I did). The fittings are bloody fiddly and, in my opinion, there are better and cheaper generic mudguards to be had.
