My bike has a Shimano Inter 7 internal hub gear and I‘ve just become aware that the mechanism should be re-oiled after a year.
The problem is the cost of the official Shimano oil ( >£80/litre).
I’m looking for a substitute at a more realistic price, any suggestions?
Many thanks.

Thank you for that, I’ll talk to my local bike shop as well.

ATF for an oil bath / drain to cleanse/flush the unit, cut the top off a 2ltr fizz bottle, place the gearhub internals in side then cover with ATF. Leave a few hours then suspend the gearhub above the oil to allow to drain.
75w 90 synthetic gear oil is used for diy /self maintenance , though a LBS will likely use the real McCoy Shimano oil.

With my Alfine 8, I give it a an ATF bath and then leave it to drain. On refitting it gets a good proper slathering of white synthetic spray grease. Some users don't use grease and simply use the 75w 90 gear oil.

Mine has been over a year now since it was last cleaned /flushed so is due another at some time. However there is a school o fit it ain't broke then leave it if the gears and operation feels good.
