I hope it will be tolerated....

I reckon it is a killer device for touring and tourists! I'm going to lisbon tomorrow and wondering if I can rent one there!

I think maybe the fear that it might be a killer device for tourists is behind the clampdown.

Oops down goes an eighty five year old Swedish tourist, whacked by another out of control teen board rider on the pavement.

And you would just want to over-volt it and put a huge pannier rack on it. :p

Thanks to all for the great feed back and the usual humor that makes one smile. I guess that I was not the only one asking this question based on the news reports.

Finding my (electric) wheels

First time I ever saw one was amongst a pile of rubbish bags piled up against a lamp post by a busy road junction- Holloway road/Seven sisters road
Narf London! Upon closer inspection it was broken literally in half.I suspect a car had run over it or somat...Thankfully there wasn't any blood or gore in the vicinity suggesting the owner escaped intact!
Im no inspector Clouseau but I reckon whoever was on it,was crossing the road and panic set in upon sudden realisation traffic was faster than anticipated and jumped off the blasted thing!

Took the bits home and salvaged a virtually new 36 v 100W lion battery and one hub motor. The other wheel was smashed to smitherins. They are a solid build .Diecast alloy frame, and the electronics and motors very neat and tidy.
