Seen anything strange lately?

In the last week I have seen:

Last night, a cyclist at my office who had, in addition red flashing lights on the back of his bike, a flashing blue one. I can only conclude he likes to pretend he is a police car!

This morning, a chap on a mountain bike going along the Embankment wearing a full face motorcycle helmet. Going pretty fast too, so must have been warm in there!

A couple of days ago, on the cycle path through Hyde Park, a cross country skiier - who I can only assume had tiny wheels on the bottom of his skis

Things don't change then Frank, Central London was always the place for eccentricities when I was located there.

I have seen the full motor cycle helmet thing round here on the fringes though, complete with illegal dark visor. Cycling's version of the hoodie i suppose.

I saw a young woman on a damn great horse wearing a bike crash hat and one of those bike visibility Sam Browne belts. She happened to be holding the reins just as one holds a bike handle bars. It was more amusing than it sounds. Wish I had had a camera with me.

Reminds me of seeing children cycling past my old house on their way to riding lessons at the nearby stable. They would be dressed in riding garb - jodhpurs, riding hat, etc, with a crop swinging at their side - riding a bicycle!

Today in Hyde Park, three people on bikes with big flourescent panniers at the back, with AMBULANCE written on them!

Not strange, but I had to jump back onto the pavement yesterday as I was almost run down by the local Community Police Officer on his bicycle (not electric) hurtling by

Continuing the emergency services theme; today, going round Trafalgar Square - two cyclists with large red panniers with 'Fire Warden' written on their backs.

So that's almost a full house on emerency services now Frank.

All we have to do now is look out for a bike rider or panniers with "Coastguard" on it.

On second thoughts, it might be a pedalo we need to look for.
