(Tried to post in Technical but for some reason option does not appear available)

Picking up our first e bikes this week which we will mainly use with our motorhome.
What do experienced users do re security when you arrive in a town to sightsee re security?
Do you take batteries out and carry them in a rucksack? (just discovered ours are a whopping £450 each - Freego Eagle 16Ah)
What is recommended re locking chains/padlocks etc?
We would be inclined to put cycling helmets into pannier and 'take a chance'?

I've two other queries which I'll post separately:D

This lock is difficult for the casual theives because they can't get their bolt croppers on it. If you look at all the Youtube videos of bike thieves in action, they nearly always have bolt croppers or a hacksaw.

Lift the battery handle and put the cable through it as well as the frame to secure it.

The Oxford Barrier lock is nearly the same, but long enough to go through both bikes - cheaper too.

If you want to/have already insured your new bikes, it is worth checking your intended lock is on the 'approved' list from your insurer. Mine insists on one of three locks, all of which weigh as much as my battery.
