Wisper Seat won't come out?

Hi,

I put the seat in, and now it doesn't even want to come out. I was using a suspension seat before. It's a Wisper 806 torque. Does anyone know how I can get it to come out?

Try heating up the seat tube with a hairdryer to expand the metal.

Copper grease is supposed to be the business.

Carbon assembly paste is recommended for seat tubes.

It is grease with granules in so it helps grip and also prevents seizing.

Ordinary grease will do the latter but might cause problems with the former.

yes,if you have a carbon seat tube and frame you need carbon grip lube to install it so it will not move i doubt the op has either nor do you pmsl

Penetrating fluid and reasonable heat to free it. Local Bike Shop put white lithium grease on mine but prob coz its cheap and close to hand. It goes yellow with age so wipe off any excess. But wth, Copaslip or as above any grease thats ok with alloy and the paint will do. A little Vaseline goes a long way ;-)

Carbon assembly paste is not just for carbon bicycles.

It does the job as I outlined for alloy and steel as well.

So pmsl all you like.

He should have used a bigger hammer, problem solved.

Heating is still the best and cheapest way to get the seat pin out. If you can't get the lid off a marmalade jar hold it under a hot tap for a few seconds, the heat expands the metal on the lid faster that the glass so it comes off easily.
Guaranteed it works every time.

Just realized there's your answer. Take the bike outside lay it on it's side and pour hot (not boiling) water over the seat tube, the tube should expand enough to pull the seat pin out.
