Slightly better spec on the Scott, and if Martin's weight quotes are to be believed, the Scott is two kilos lighter.

At the last Evans ride we were discussing once again the fact that you see almost every brand of mtb, but no one could recall ever seeing a Haibike mtb. I've never thought about looking out for Scott mtb's so have no idea if there have been any.
Bearing in mind that there are roughly 300 bikes at each event, and sometimes the numbers top 600, you would kind of expect to see at least one amongst those numbers.
Not that I particularly follow amateur or world mtb enduro series etc, but it would be interesting to know what percentage are Haibike or Scott. I suspect close to zero.

It just appears that I think they are aligning the distribution in the UK, because no one else appears to have make Bergamont stick so far. Not sure why.
If I am correct in what I have read from Martin's site, the Haibike weighs a shocking 21,8kg, the Scott weighs 19.9kg, and my KTM weighs 18.9kg.

I'll be honest and say that the name Bergamont is a bit, well, old fashioned sounding.
Doesn't have the same ring as brands such as KTM, Haibike, Scott, Cannondale, GT etc.....
Yeh but the cable ties required to hold a haibike FS bike together, quickly add the weight reduction factor back up again.mine is 20.9 and full sus, even less with missing bolts lol
Bergamont had some fairly high end trekking ebikes at the NEC bike show a couple of years ago.
My local bike shop has just taken on Bergamont, partly because the manager knows the representative from his time with other brands.
Maybe Scott hope they will complement their eMTBs, although Bergamont do lots of those as well.
I agree with Fordulike, the name Bergamont does sound old-fashioned.
If the bikes are right, that shouldn't matter one way or t'other, but realistically it does.

So let's not forget that they also serve people well.
Out of those two, I'd go with the Scott given the better components and the weight saving.
The Haibike top bar has the ball saving design, that I have been grateful to on many occasions when you dismount unexpectedly.

I have seen Haibike Road bikes for sale in shops, but I've not seen anyone riding one on the roads. They do seem to be expensive for the equipment supplied on them, but they maybe because they are very light, and a very good frame. I don't know enough about road bikes to know. I just know I haven't seen anyone riding one.
I've ridden eMTB Haibikes, and didn't rate them as a bike to ride, but the motor does seem to be higher up in the frame giving slightly more ground clearance
IMO I would buy a Scott from a Scott dealer rather than a "specialist E-Bike" dealer, but there is a lot of Haibikes out there, perhaps as they were the first to market a large range of eBikes.
Best thing to do is ride both back to back, and buy what you prefer, as if you ride one, on a Monday and ride another on the Wednesday, you wont have fresh in your mind what the first one was like to ride.
