I'd say be very wary.

We've seen how the same company, Hilderthorpe, brought in the sport model when the makers had withdrawn it as unsatisfactory, and the subsequent failed A to B review.

This appears to be the mix as before, Schwinn's flat carrier battery and controller setup with the Nano front motor. If Schwinn really have sorted the controller software problems out it could be ok, but I've seen no announcement about that.

Not something I'd bet on, and I would wait for others to take the plunge or for a review before diving in.

Well spotted, Keith
I think they are being optimistic thinking someone will bid £1150 for it. I'd expect someone paying that much on eBay to do some research - and they wouldn't like what they found out!

Leicester LE4, UK.
But Hiderthorpe don't sell on eBay..... or so they told Keith:rolleyes:

The description of the Schwinn bike states it has a coaster rear brake. When I was a lad coaster brakes were applied by back-pedalling.. so why does the photo show two brake levers?

Coaster brakes were not popular as they inhibited back-pedalling to position the cranks for starting, they fell from favour when cables replaced rods and simplified modern lever operation of the rear brake. I'm surprised that Schwinn have revived coaster brakes, albeit with a handlebar lever;)

The Claud Butler looks like another Tongxin front hub motor with Protanium battery.

They don't seem to give the spec but something very similar is available for a bit less here
