Schwable Winter Tyres "Icey Conditions & Snow "

Hi

I was just wondering has anyone tried out the "Schwalbe Winter Tyres" because at the moment we are getting a lot of ice around my area i don't want to really ride in these conditions because of coming off i do own some marathon plus tyres which are very good in the better weather but when it start to coming to mud and ice they are a complete waste of time

Has anymore tried and tested the Schwalbe Marathon Winter plus tyres?

I agree about the mud but haven't experienced any problems on ice.

Last year, I rode two miles up an incline over trodden, thawed then refrozen snow through the Forrest. No ground showed through but never a slither.

You have to ride carefully, going down may have been different though.

My best advice with Marathon plus Tyres in the winter months keep away from ice & mud because i can assure you will be coming off quicker then you got on the bike guaranteed

For ice only studs help.

But for mud they are a self cleaning mud pluggers. I now prove this every weekend.

Mud guards, helmet, coat, frame, chain and gears.

From the photo you can see the centre tread is clear yet the sides of the tyres are still covered.
