Personally I cannot see the need for all this extra electronics.
The function they provide is very limited and only of interest to a minority.

Our bikes are a compromise of the least possible power to enable their use without need of legal restraint as per motor vehicles.
Let us enjoy them as such. They provide a near cycling experience for most of us, i.e. simplicity, instant availability, go as you please, enjoy the fresh air etc.
The beauty of an unpowered bike is that such a simple arrangement of metal and rubber transforms a long walk with its attendant sore feet etc. into a pleasant journey with little fatigue. A simple addition of an electric motor improves that experience when hills and head winds are encountered.
If you want sophisticated controls, may as well get a motor cycle and be done with it.
