Any secondhand ebike over about 3 years old, esp. if it's stood unused for any length of time, you really need to allow for a new battery in the price you pay.

Yes I will be a bit careful next time I see a 2nd hand bike. But my bike i have now is old and had SLA batteries 2 x 12V and this site talked me through replacing it with a Lithium one much lighter too. But my bike is old now so needed a better one say like a 36 or 48V one

man in shop said. What do I mean you are not happy. he said bike has not even been charged up yet. so I told him I go on a web site and its to do with electric bikes. he said its bullshit wtf do they know, I said well I think they would know more than him. also I said I already have a electric bike now, so I also know a bit about batteries.
The bike professionals apparently hate it when a non professional knows more than they do!
Seen it and heard it before.
Also from plumbers, electricians and builders.....Nothing new!!
I am glad for you that it went well...

Hobbyist's/amateurs if you like, tend to have more of a passion for their past times and the experience & advice is quite often 2nd to none.

A good result - glad you got it sorted.

For info I bought a very nice but broken bike as a project to keep me occupied, it is now working well but it took a lot of time to fix all the problems. The original batteries were very poor and had to be changed as they went flat in less than 5 miles. Expect to be disappointed if you buy an electric bike that has been neglected or abused.

If with SLA batteries it could be very old now, probably around 15 years or more. I've never seen a lithium batteried version. They are old legal standard 200 watt rated e-bikes and were the main competitor in that market for Powabyke.

It's probably this S300 model with SLA batteries, has it got 24" wheels?
