Hi all I am about to purchase a Sakura electric bike. I am sure man said its model no S 300053462 would anyone here have some images of front view or just of bike, and what charger it takes as he has lost the original charger. its 36V far as I know

The charger should be no problem, but the connector might be.
Sadly, the battery has a strong chance of being unusable if not charged for some time. I mean defective.
Take it as a given (its safer that way) that you will need to buy a new battery. That might make the purchase too expensive, as depending upon the style and size, it could go over 400 UK pounds or more....
Furthermore, with an uncharged battery, you cannot test the motor and electronics....they could all be defective....
If you are not a keen and well educated electrical/electronic DIYer, buy a new bike from a reputable LBS (Local Bike Shop!)
My personal take is never a mid motor, as they appear to have the most expensive, more maintenance and have the most problems when reading through Pedelec, but that comment will upset many here....

Hi Andy many thanks for your reply. Well I am a bit angry as I saw this bike outside a 2nd hand shop. I thought wow much better than mine. as I just have a 24v one also very noisy too. so I ask man in shop how much he says £200 so i gave him £200 cash. then he informs me battery is dead. he bought it from this lady it was her dads whom had died. but she cant find the charger. so man in shop said he has ordered a new charger. I know its SLA batteries by the weight of battery holder. very heavy. its obvious 3 x 12V lead acid batteries. I said to man in shop. I would have thought he should have advertised it fully charged. But too late now for all that. I should have just paid half money until he gets new charger. is it a special charger for lead acid batteries than lithium one. I found this one on ebay, but dont know if he has ordered the right charger he said the connection is right on 1 he has ordered. but this one has 3 holes at end mine dont as on bike its just single hole
But this charger here has the correct connector at end to go into battery, but it says lithium. but like i said battery case is well heavy. which makes me think its lead acid batteries
Maybe then this sakura bike is lithium batteries, but they well heavy which made me think its lead acid batteries. but on that SLA one that connector has 3 holes in end part what go to battery. but that lithium one is correct connector
I asked man in shop whats the model number of this bike he said it says sakura S300053462 seems a long number
Batteries if heavy and not SLA may well be lifepo4/lithium iron phosphate, if it is lifpo4 you can't use lion charger as the voltage is totally different.
so what charger is the correct one as man in shop has ordered a 36V one with connector for battery he said
If with SLA batteries it could be very old now, probably around 15 years or more. I've never seen a lithium batteried version. They are old legal standard 200 watt rated e-bikes and were the main competitor in that market for Powabyke.
It's probably this S300 model with SLA batteries, has it got 24" wheels?

Someone here may know the bike, I don't.
You are lucky that at worst, you ONLY have £200 invested, it could have been far, far worse.
I personally would not buy an SLA bike, the batteries, as you said, are heavy and the energy density is low...Plus, as with Li-ion, if they have been standing around for a long time, you will need to replace them....
May I recommend contact a C.A.B., and asking them if they can assist you in somehow getting your money back...
Post the name and address of the shop here, to warn off Pedelec members....

Hi flecc thanks for replying, yes thats the bike, but mine has a lockable box at rear the image below isn't my bike but a picture I found on google
regarding has it 24" wheels I wouldn't really know, as bike is still in shop awaiting a battery charger. so which of those chargers i posted above is correct one. mind you if shop owner says he has ordered one, well its up to him to test bike on charge. as I have told him, I want to see bike fully charged and working also take it for a run near his shop. it looks very clean. shop owner said model is S300053462 but someone above said its a S300 then. thats all I know for now.
Yes I understand what you saying Andy. but man in shop does seem very helpful, and said he will make sure its all charged up etc. and I can test it out too.
Yes I said it looks like the S300. The number the dealer gave you is the bike's serial number, beginning with S300 and ending with yours being number 53,462 made.
As wheeliepete said, the batteries will almost certainly be dud. The bike may run on them briefly but the range very short.

Well I will tell man in shop, how long has the bike been standing at the place he bought it from. then demand half my money back. unless he buys a new set of batteries. as like you said. a set of 3 x 12v batteries are about £80 to £100. But I feel now I have been done. as I have already paid him £200 for bike. cash I have got the receipt saying paid awaiting battery charger. But it was 3.3.20 I bought bike and its 9th today so 6 days and he has not got charger yet. he told me he has ordered it from eBay and showed me the expected date for delivery what said 15th. But I dont think it should take that long. depends when he ordered it. as he did say on 3rd when i bought it. he has ordered charger. so I assumed he means when he bought bike from owner. which must be before 3rd. he does seem quite genuine. and like i said bike looks very new. But then depends how long it has stood idle. lady who sold it to him, said it was her dads, but had passed away. and she cant find charger
That's very common with e-bikes so it's probably a genuine story.
Many elderly men buy an e-bike, later pass away and relatives clear out their stuff. Not knowing what a charger is they throw them out as part of the accumulated junk, so when the bike is sold there's no charger and sometimes no keys either, sometimes not even a battery.

Yes thats true too. I am a bit worried about bike now. but also excited I saw it in shop and got to buy it. But man does seem very genuine. so when he does get charger and its all ready. I will try it 1st and if it is like whats been said it dont last long with batteries say after a week. I will go back to shop and see what he says, but would imagine he will say, well not up to him now. But I maybe wrong I will ask him to give me half for a new set of batteries. I dont intend to use bike to much anyway on long trips. as been a bit cold. but thats not point.
I have been thinking about this bike. As it will be 7 days tomorrow. Since I paid man in shop for this bike. And i still dont have the bike. As he is waiting for a charger. Well he is in the wrong for not telling me straight away. So I am going to give him an ultimatum. Either he gives me full refund of £200 what I paid him. For the bike. Or I keep the bike but he gives me a 6 months guarantee. At least that way I will have 6 months to test the bike. But as I paid him cash. I don't think he will refund me. But I could be wrong. It's worth a try. As I was genuine with him. Then he says after i paid. He has ordered a charger.

It depends on where on ebay that he bought the charger, it can take 4 weeks from China, but hopefully its far more local than that!

Well like I said I bought the bike on 3rd march, so today its 10th. thats a week I have waited for bike. he showed me expected delivery date on ebay, it says 15th. But do you think I am being reasonable if I ask him can he give me say a 6 month or maybe 3 month guarantee, as that battery is flat, and I dont know when was last time it was fully charged. at least with a guarantee I will be covered a bit. do you think I am being fair with man, as like people have said here I or him dont know when battery was last charged up
Well I went back to the shop today told man how I felt, and he was very good about it all, told me everything he sells its guaranteed for 3 months. also he said he has a reputation to keep, as told me if he sold dud goods it will give him a bad name. I told him also how can he tell how long the battery's have not been charged. he said dont worry if its defective he will refund me money. He didn't order charger until day after I bought bike. I thought he had ordered it before that. But said it should be with him, on 15th expected date, but will probably arrive before then

Hi well I just wanted to thank everyone here, for all there help, I must admit I was very undecided, but reading all your replies. I went into the shop I bought the bike, also he still has not got the charger arrive from eBay, he ordered it on 4th march he said its due in on 15th. but still not in today. will probably be in Monday. But I told him he dont know how long bike has stood idle when he bought it. plus its now been another 2 weeks. and when he did try key all what happened was red light came on battery was well down. so I told him today I wanted a full refund. of £200. he even said to me He was told by someone "If that man (meaning me) dont want bike I will have it" so I said to him well let them have it then, no problem now is there. he then handed over £200 cash. so all well now. will see if another one comes up but this time working charged battery
man in shop said. What do I mean you are not happy. he said bike has not even been charged up yet. so I told him I go on a web site and its to do with electric bikes. he said its bullshit wtf do they know, I said well I think they would know more than him. also I said I already have a electric bike now, so I also know a bit about batteries.
